I read a NY Times article earlier today about Vivek Kundra, the federal government's new Chief Information Officer. He seems to be a big proponent of opening up federal data to the public:
"There is a lot of data the federal government has and we need to make sure that all the data that is not private, or restricted for national security reasons, can be made public."
I hope that attitude rubs off on LC when it comes to the LCSH, NAF, etc. :-)

That's how I interpret it, but in fact we don't know anything until
they do it, and the LCSH part was supposed to be done by now (after all, the
code already existed since it was done for lcsh.info).
