Re: [ACAT] new OCLC Policy for the Use of WorldCat Records

OCLC has posted a response to OCLC-CAT with the facts of the matter so
far (the NYLINK info was premature and currently inaccurate), and that
message is being forwarded to AUTOCAT. So be aware that there's more to
the story. One of the key sentences is probably that the new policy
"opens WorldCat records to new, noncommercial uses by members and
non-member libraries alike." Look at OCLC-CAT or AUTOCAT (and possibly
other library lists) for the full text of OCLC's response to this
premature announcement.

|OCLC record-use policies have been discussed here a number of times.
|
|Patrick Cates said that I could forward his message from AUTOCAT to
|NGC4LIB. Apparently OCLC record use policy has changed, is not yet
|public (or at least known to NYLINK), and if you use OCLC after Nov.
|2, you've agreed to it. Is there anything going on here?
