Since I had nothing to do with the OCLC negotiations and the resulting
deal, I won't take Karen's blogpost personally. I will make two points
however: we've been pushing hard on OCLC regarding many aspects of
record sharing in our partnership with Google; and that while the
records we currently share are certainly not optimal, libraries are at
least able to use them to link to records already in their local
catalogs, ie do something useful with them.
