I was off list for a while, but caught up recently on the discussion
about OCLC sharing records with Google. I'm afraid that the post by
Perry Willett tipped me over the edge, and in my usual way I lost
control and posted on my blog (http://kcoyle.blogspot.com) a scathing
analysis of the Michigan records. Perry, do NOT take this personally,
because it isn't aimed at you. I know that getting the data out there at
all was a well-fought victory. It's just my despair over the whole
situation with library data.
