The democratic control of the owners of OCLC has been diluted to an
extent that I personally would not have tolerated had I been in charge.
But yes, we still own it. There are no other owners but us. Those
non-member trustees don't own it--their legal trusteeship obligations
are to run the organization in the interests of it's member-owners, us.
(Whether or not we have democratic control to enforce this, that is
their legal obligation). OCLC remains a cooperative, non-profit,
enterprise.
