Hi,

I posted this question to another list, but it was suggested to also post it here.

We are creating a new catalog at the LDS Church History department, and are wanting to possibly add a feature to allow for user-generated metadata (i.e. folksonomies). Does anyone have experience with, or know examples of, online catalogs that currently allow for searchable user-generated metadata? What software or other technical information was used for the interface and search engine? How is this incorporated with the "regulated" metadata created by professionals?

I have already been given responses about PennTags, Footnote.com, and Claremont Colleges (CA.) libraries. Are there any other examples?

I would be interested in any specs or other information about any examples out there related to folksonomies and the like, especially those incorporating user-generated and more standardized metadata.

Thank you,

Ryan Lee
