Certainly, there are additional benefits to being a consortium member
than just MARC records. The consortium to which my organization belongs
provides the online catalog, automated Interlibrary Loan, federated
searching, downloadable audios, videos, and ebooks, access to databases,
high speed Internet connections, WiFi setup, and other things.
