Hiya,

Just thought I'd pop in with a note that the Topic Maps 2008
conference in Oslo,Norway in April
(http://www.topicmaps.com/tmc/conference.jsp?conf=TM2008) has just
finished their program that has a lot of relevance to this list and
the good people on it.

Most relevant would be the digital libraries track on the second day
where Sam Gyun Oh (Sungkyunkwan University) talks about 'MARC, FRBR
and AACR2R: The Topic Maps Perspective', Conal Tuohy (Victoria
University of Wellington) talks about 'Topic Maps for Cultural
Heritage Collections', and I (Bekk Consulting, ex. National Library of
Australia) will be talking about 'Visions for a Topic Mapped Library'.

There's other tracks that has huge relevance to us as well (knowledge
and information management, e-learning and education, and
e-government), and, if nothing else, you can come and listen to the
great David Weinberger talk about 'everything is misc.' about
classification, IA and the like.

Hope to see lots of librarians / wannabe's / hasbeens there.

Kind regards,

Alexander Johannesen
