There's no efficient way to actually download the data and there could
be issues with copying information directly from a product.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but this is government generated
information so there should be no issue with this approach.

I thought you meant something much more specific than this -- I was
imagining breaking things down all the way to individual numbers . The
level of detail in the NCSU LC hierarchy is low enough to easily be
handled by a manual process. Maybe someone from NCSU could comment on
that, but that's what it looks like from the outside.

For that level of detail, I'd be inclined to take the easy way out,
download the conspectus categories, and see if that meets your needs.
