BTW, if you are an OCLC member library, it costs you nothing, it
is already included in your cataloging subscription. When you
are challenged for authentication, use your cataloging
credentials. Now if you are talking about non-OCLC members, then
things become a little sticky on the license/revenue front since
OCLC is limited by the IRS from collecting more than a few percent
of yearly revenue from non-member sources, so those types of
opportunities are rarely pursued.

One can download the Conspectus categories at:
<http://www.oclc.org/collectionanalysis/support/conspectus.xls>

One can download the Dewey summaries at:
<http://www.oclc.org/research/researchworks/ddc/terms.htm>

Access to a snapshot of DDC Abridged 14 is available through the
Dewey browser, available at:
<http://deweybrowser.oclc.org/ddcbrowser/a14>
See also <http://deweybrowser.oclc.org/ddcbrowser2/>

Access to a snapshot of the LC name authority file is available at:
<http://alcme.oclc.org/eprintsUK/>

Access to a snapshot of the FAST authority file is available at:
<http://fast.oclc.org/>

An experimental classification service based on FRBR work sets is
available at:
<http://deweybrowser.oclc.org/classify/>

There is a lot to play with, if you know where to look, without being
an OCLC member.

P.S. Jonathan, if have a project in mind that would make use of some
Terminology Services, I would be interested in hearing about it. Feel
free to drop me an e-mail.
