Yes, but remember that what you use or borrow at any one library is
probably a small portion of what you read, and other books you might
like could be missing from that library. That's at least one reason why
something outside of the individual library system is better. And you
probably want to be able to edit/mashup/delete/slice'n'dice to get
various views. For example, my leisure reading and my "serious" reading
are on very different planes, and I want to see them as separate
threads. I also don't want to lose my reading list because I move.

The key, I believe, is interoperability, not specific library systems.
