INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR: DIGITAL KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT LIBRARIAN
WEPAN Women in Engineering Knowledge Center
WEPAN (Women in Engineering ProActive Network) invites independent
contractors to submit their qualifications to act as Digital Knowledge
Management Librarian for a new NSF-funded digital women in engineering
knowledge center (WKC).
QUALIFICATIONS: An ALA-accredited MLS or MLIS; strong, effective
interpersonal and communication skills; potential for leadership; commitment
to excellence; flexibility and ability to work both independently and
collaboratively; familiarity with knowledge management software and Library
2.0 technologies; background in organization of knowledge; ability to adapt
emerging technologies to enhance access to the knowledge center; ability to
communicate with software experts. Familiarity with the domain of the
status of women in engineering is desired.
The independent contractor will work from his/her own location, using
his/her own facilities and equipment. Ability to communicate frequently via
phone, email, conference calls, and simple internet video-conferences is
required. The current project includes an average level of effort of
approximately 11 days per month over three years. Compensation will be via a
contract with WEPAN.
CONTRACTOR SELECTION: The review process begins immediately and continues
until the contractor is selected. Contractor submissions should include a
letter of interest, experience and qualifications, and the names, addresses
