The code4lib crew often bombard the IRC channel with their recently
listened-to tracks scrobbled [1] from last.fm (they call it a
blockparty). Like Chris said, last.fm has a lot of social networking
hooks. Another example: the dbtune project offers a service [2] that
mines scrobbled tracks and combines it with FOAF [3] to dump out an
RDF feed that you could combine with other data about yourself.

What this has to do with NGC, I'm sure I couldn't say... but it's
interesting. Thanks to Mark for the link to Pandora.fm. I hadn't heard
of that one.
