I have received lots of good suggestions for improving the rules and the
model, and I have posted new revised drafts of both at
http://myee.bol.ucla.edu. The following is a brief summary of the changes
I've made:
1. I added sections to the blog to allow the specific questions about the
model to be separately discussed.
2. I listed the sources I used to learn how to use RDF (to the degree that I
have--smile). (If anyone can suggest other sources of information about
RDF, I'd love to hear about them.)
3. I separated the role property from the principal/secondary creator
property in the model. I changed the expression related roles to be
explicitly expression related, but since these roles operate on a different
entity (expression, not work), I thought it was important to maintain some
control over them to make sure they are never used for, e.g. a primary
creator.
4. I changed subject from a class to a relationship property.
5. I made some changes in the rules based on Renette's and Mac's excellent
suggestions.
Thank you all very, very much for your help and happy holidays...
Martha
P.S. I'm studying SKOS to see if I should try to code my own lists of terms
outside the rules.

"You have a dollar. I have a dollar. We swap. Now you have my dollar and I
have your dollar. We are not better off. You have an idea. I have an idea.
We swap. Now you have two ideas and I have two ideas. Both are richer. When
you gave, you have. What I got, you did not lose. That’s cooperation"—Jimmy
Durante quoted in Schnozzola, by Gene Fowler, 1951, p. 207-208.
