Actually, it doesn't. Or at least not well with specifically the
keyword or topic/genre/form (i.e., subject) searches.
Go here: <http://cinema.library.ucla.edu>
Type in "WW II" or "World War 2" (with or without quotes). I get no
hits. Of course, searches on "World War II" as well as "World War"
bring up the list of headings.

The details escape me now, but LC will begin (or has begun)
establishing more subdivided headings en masse, thus perhaps helping
out in this department. (I write this as some who isn't a "tech guy" expert.)
