Re: tools for library users

Eric, re: "how they get their work done" -- this is the reason I posted
the "needs" list from Prof. Burke. It's not enough to just list (because
a catalog is a list) what items the library has, nor to judge user needs
by what they do already when they are at the library catalog. That's too
narrow a view of user behavior.

I also think we need to go beyond just delivery of content. After all,
we gather this content and make it available because we think people
will USE it. So why aren't we also in the business of facilitating that
use? We should be.
