I think it should be an entirely new thing that would be able to grab
data from anyone who would add AND be able to limit to things locally
available AND be able to do any number of other neat things.  A real
world catalog that would connect materials and people in as many ways as
possible without confusing anyone.  No problem, right?

As to funding, do the X prize people take suggestions?  Otherwise, we'll
have to figure out how to set it up or what other group might want to
take it on.

Again, the big question is the funding of such a prize.  Also, would
this just be a web opac front end to existing LMS or an entirely new
LMS?
