InfoCurrent is accepting resumes on behalf of our Boston client for a Senior Metadata Manager role.
The Metadata Manager focuses on the identification and creation of metadata records for internal knowledge content, advising content owners on appropriate placement of content.
The Metadata Manager works as part of a strong virtual team based in several locations globally.
Duties
Proactively identify knowledge resources to be included in KM system to ensure all of the most current knowledge is available.
Work with communities (industry, service line, country/area, etc.) to ensure that all appropriate resources are being shared, and that they are being surfaced in the most appropriate places within the intranet environment.
Conduct ongoing knowledge content review to ensure that KM documents reflect user needs.
Ensure that KM system is technically sound and works properly within Lotus Notes and Web infrastructures.
Manage the deployment of design changes, and communicate changes to relevant audiences.
Manage the content enablement aspects of the various areas of the intranet for all countries within the global environment. This will require building relationships with key contacts within the countries and building an understanding of local conditions and challenges.
Participate in the selection and performance management of staff members as required
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- Master's degree in Library or Information Science is preferred
Experience:
- Approximately 5-7 years of business experience
- Experience with metadata management, indexing, or cataloguing in a knowledge management or library setting preferred
