I don't know - there are plenty of people who keep specific volumes
simply for their nostalgic associations.

Mmmm. A "private tags" field would be handy... actually, in the
librarything context, the ability to mark a specific work as "private"
(say, still having it provide statistics to the system, just not
identify you as the owner or use it for linkages) would be an
interesting social development, as well. How many copies of (to return
to Tim's earliest example) Ms. Coulter's book would suddenly disappear
from well-stocked personal libraries?
