We'd be right back to where we started again.  The idea of a folksonomie
is to use the user's "language" and not the crazy librarian speak :)

I think this concept is the way to success, of course it would need to
be completely open.  A single "database" of tags would be fantastic, but
it needs to have an API so that other schools can easily implement it
into their catalog.  It needs to allow any patron at any library to
enter in a tag as to not "bias" the tags to any one population.  If it
is completely open and any library can participate, than this concept
would be much more of a success.

We are currently in the process of implementing/rolling out a new OPAC
with tagging capabilities, but we are all very skeptical of the success
due to the small population and breaking the inertia of having no tags
on anything.
