Diane, I totally agree, and have so advocated in the past. I think,
though, Tim was looking at a way to work with current MARC records, so I
was addressing that. His posting said something about "only one LCSH
because of shelf location." I happen to be someone who likes
hierarchical context in subject searching, so I would like to see a
de-emphasis of LCSH (which doesn't use intuitive terms anyway), but more
ability for users to travel around LCC to discover topics they might not
be able to name.
