Well, about all we can do is raise awareness and lobby for
laws/regulatory practice to be changed. Write letters to your
politicians. Write op-ed letters to newspapers. Speak about the need for
IP-law reform at conferences. Write about it in any outlets you have
(blog, column in a magazine, whatever). Lobby your professional
organization(s) to take a stand on IP-law reform, and direct their own
lobbying efforts at it. Join/give money to/volunteer for/start
organizations that work on IP law reform. Work with others, in such
organizations or committees of professional organizations or elsewhere,
to come up with concrete proposals for IP-law reform. Sign petitions
(sigh). Perhaps there's some avenue for using your market power to
advance your interests with your vendors and others you do business with
too, but I'm not sure (boycott companies with bad patents? Seems less
realistic.)

I mean, this is how legal changes are made, right? (I don't think anyone
is advocating armed revolution for patent reform).

Were you looking for something else?
