No, but the standards being used have to be persuasive out of their own,
by their effectiveness, ease of use, and omnipresence.

So, where's the standard we can replace MARC numbers with, to
ease our talking and enlighten catalog users?
Roy Tennant, a while ago, has looked at DC metadata in various
places to see how interoperable they are. He was shocked into
repealing his earlier death sentence for MARC...
