Joe,
Just to clarify, from a Talis/ILL point of view, I assume you are
talking about Talis Source. (http://www.talis.com/source/about.shtml).
Talis Source is a, currently UK/Ireland only, Interlibrary Loan Service
which provides free contribution/discovery service for holdings
information contributed to the Talis Platform
(http://www.talis.com/platform/index.shtml). There is also an enhanced,
chargeable service that builds on the free services, for ILL request
management.
As web based services users do not need to download anything to use it.
The data Openly contributed to the Platform is also available via
Platform API services which, as web services, could be easily integrated
in to applications built upon the Platform.
