Usable they most certainly are, even useful. Most of our systems have
them, but we detect low enthusiam for them. People like to toss in a
wordcoin or two into a slot and take the output for relevant results,
any additional click or input is not popular. Any questions as to
might there be better results are seldom asked. (NG design, I'm afraid,
will have to work from this, not from any assumption that users
might be educatable.)
