Well, depends. The larger a database, the more mistakes are in it.
An A-Z list of the personal names then shows these wrong forms (if in
proximity of the correct ones). A find command for the correct form will
not always find the incorrectly entered ones.
Also, think of the telephone directory. In large cities, looking for
someone you don't know the exact forname of, is it not helpful to have
the A-Z listing to browse? Is there a better alternative?
