Greetings-
I submit to all of you that the discussions about library technology, terminology, and everything else about the next generation of the library catalog is useful, but if we do not interest people in using our resources, no matter the vehicle for access, then why worry so much about how they are built? Is it build it this way and they will come?
I think most people, except librarians, see libraries in much the same way they always have. They exist; they are "free;" they are institutional; they are good; they are ...
If I ever hear someone say, in the context of a search or discovery process, I think I'll just "library" it, then I will be one satisfied librarian, if I live that long.
