Hi everyone,
I'm a French student working in the ESC Lille library (http://www.esc-lille.fr). We currently use an ILS that the local librarians have conceived together with a software house, and which we'd like to improve. I know for sure that it's going to be web-based (it already is for users, but not for us). I can suggest almost anything I want, provided it's technically possible. The aim is eventually to sell this software, to small documentary units rather than big libraries, that's why we won't focus on Marc standards or complicated bibliographic records which no one but a librarian with 5 years of experience can fully handle. What I'm looking for instead is innovative OPACs or searching interfaces, and it seems that you all know a lot more about that than your French counterparts. Since you're always ahead of us in terms of new technologies, I'll be glad to hear any suggestion or see any kind of library catalog that you find interesting !
Here's ours (mostly bilingual, but I haven't finished translating all the pages) : http://mediatheque.esc-lille.fr
Thanks !
