Well, I'm getting a little off-topic here w/r/t catalogs, but you are
darn right "of course they'd notice" if the academic library closed!
Why do they want it open 24 hrs if they wouldn't care?
I do take notice of Walt's "some" above: at my residential liberal
arts college, I think they'd notice the lack of a library building to
study and congregate in long before they noticed we'd pulled the plug
on JSTOR or (to get back on topic just a little) the OPAC.
And, as much as I hate myself for saying this, I don't think most
academic librarians are guilty of self-loathing.
