Not inferiority complex. Lack of marketing. Antique image to
overcome. Not being "free". Yes, not being free, because users know
that their tuition, their taxes, etc, are paying for it. And who
wants to pay higher tuition or taxes? Not the people who have to pay.
And even if they're willing to do so in some cases, the power brokers
(board of regents, library board, CEO, etc) don't want to attach their
names to something that pisses off many of the constituents (students,
citizens, shareholders).
Maybe inferiority complex is a small part of it, but I don't think
many on THIS group have one. Right?
