Thank you to all who already responded here - I didn't think it would
let you, but I wasn't sure... (And don't ask me how you can google for
searching information on google and not find what information is
obviously out there from the links ya'll have sent - proof again that
Google doesn't answer everything!)

According to http://searchenginewatch.com/facts/article.php/2155981
Google doesn't support AND or NOT, and you can't OR two phrases, for
example
"Bill Clinton" OR "Hillary Clinton"
would fail. That sounds like a no on google and Boolean

Odd, that SEW doesn't indicate whether full and proper Boolean is usable
on any of the search engines... most folks who would care to go that
deeply into searching would be familiar with it....

Actually I attempted to Google using Boolean search (not THAT detailed
though) just yesterday (at home for a personal search - not for work or
anything academic)... (speaking of which - can anyone else find a page
to let us know if Google will let us use parenthesis, etc - I've tried a
couple of times to Google using Boolean logic, and I'm never sure if its

actually working, but I can't find any guide to what does work, if they
have a truncation symbol, etc...)

However, I'll admit that it was odd - maybe it's residual from my taking
a course last year when I was still in library school on searching using

Dialog Classic...
