Absolutely.  Most of our users want to be able to do "google like"
searches.  In the usual databases students do appreciate the ability
to limit to "full text available online" and/or to "articles in
referreed journals".

At the other extreme I have a colleague who has been doing reference
for years who insists that a search tool is useless if it can't handle
Boolean searches nested at least three levels deep.  Even among the
librarians, he's the only one who really cares about that ability.
When was the last time any of us did a search like that?
