Amigos Library Services invites proposals<https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/M4qMdz3JcG> from staff at member libraries and the wider library community for individual or panel sessions at its upcoming online conference, Future Driven Collections, on December 9, 2026.
Libraries are adapting to changing technologies, evolving formats, increasing demands for accessibility, and growing user expectations around access to information. Libraries use collection development, technical services, metadata, and discovery tools to keep collections easy to find, useful, and aligned with user needs. Future Driven Collections explores how libraries are developing sustainable, innovative practices that support access to information today while preparing for the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow.
Session proposals might highlight:
* Collection development strategies, collection assessment, analytics, and data-informed decision making
* Metadata, cataloging, authority control, linked data, BIBFRAME, and improving discoverability
* Inclusive, accessible, and user-centered approaches to collections and metadata
* Electronic resource management, acquisitions, licensing, and managing digital content
* Digital collections, repositories, preservation, and stewardship of physical and digital resources
* Open access, open educational resources, and emerging models for content access and sharing
* Artificial intelligence, automation, and other emerging technologies in technical services and collection workflows
* Discovery services, search experiences, and connecting users with library resources
* Collaborative collection initiatives, resource sharing, retention programs, and partnerships
* Workforce development, workflow innovation, and future-ready skills for collection and technical services professionals
Presentations will be delivered online with technical support and moderation provided by Amigos staff. Proposals from all library types are encouraged.
