Hi everyone,
I’m Jonathan Starr from the Institute of Open Science Practices / SciOS.
We’re hosting *IOSP 2026 in Leiden, October 12–15*, and I’d love to invite
folks from the Code4Lib community to join us. *It’s completely free to
attend.*
IOSP is much more buildathon than conference. We’re bringing researchers,
developers, librarians, data/software people, infrastructure builders, and
others together to connect existing open-science tools and practices into a
working, community-owned system.
Across the main working days, we’ll build through one connected sequence:
*Store → Share → Assess → Fund*
That includes community-operated resilient data storage; publishing
datasets, code, and modular research objects; transparent assessment over
what gets published; and community-governed mechanisms for directing
funding.
I think there are a lot of people in Code4Lib who would enjoy getting their
hands dirty with this—particularly anyone interested in repositories,
preservation, metadata, identifiers, discovery, research software, linked
data, or open infrastructure.
