Dear all,
The Open Preservation Foundation (OPF) is pleased to welcome the University
of Leeds <https://www.leeds.ac.uk/about> Libraries (UoL) as our latest
member.
Established in 1904, the University of Leeds is one of the largest
universities in the United Kingdom. The University of Leeds Libraries'
mission is to collect, create, deliver, and preserve huge digital and print
collections for current and future research, learning and teaching housing
over 3 million items. The Libraries have five designated collections deemed
internationally important - more than any other UK library. Their free,
public galleries present their exceptional collections of fine art,
artefacts, rare books and manuscripts from the world renowned Cultural
Collections & Galleries.
Neil Jefferies, Executive Director of the OPF, said: “We are thrilled to
welcome UoL as our newest member. They have a fantastic reputation for
collaboration and openness, and we hope to join and support them in their
endeavours. As UoL embark on their 3rd year of their Digital Library
Infrastructure Project (DLIP), this is a wonderful time to join the OPF.”
