Charles,
I don't know what zint.com is, but the Zint QR/bar code tool homepage is: https://www.zint.org.uk/
The executable you should be running is "qtzint.exe".
You won't be able to make a QR code for a word file directly. My limited understanding of the capacity (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_code#Design) is that a binary file must be under 2.9kB to be encoded. Most QR codes represents text or digits only. A v40 QR code with alphanumeric input mode and low error correction can hold 4296 characters, but that is such a large QR code with tiny dots, that nobody will want to scan it. See here for some information on use cases: https://www.the-qrcode-generator.com/blog/types-of-qr-codes
Thus, if you put a Word file up somewhere on the web where it can be accessed by a specific URL, then you could encode that URL into a QR code.

Subject: [CODE4LIB] Zint QR Code Generator
My esteemed listmates,
I just downloaded the zint 32 zip file from SourceForge.
It downloaded and I extracted all the files but when I click on the
zint.exe file it pops on the screen for a millisecond and disappears.
I then visited Zint.com and there are so many popups and screens having
nothing to do with creating a QR code - e.g metric converter, etc.
I want to take MS Word text files and create a QR code for them all.
This is in lieu of creating a graphics file in Canva which supposedly
creates a QR code.
I'm doing a short discussion so I don't need a Power Point but I also don't
want to print out 10 pages and make 20 copies of the text presentation.
I'd like to print 1-2 of the "handout" with a QR code people could just
scan to have all the text pages.
Thank you,
Charles.
