Re: gmail searching - by topic followed by date range

The sample search you provided works as expected for me, and this is the
notation that I've used for this kind of search in the past.

One thing I will say is that sometimes Gmail searching is intermittently
weird. I've done searches for items where I know there are results from the
distant past, and yet only had recent years be returned. Trying the search
again later seems to have resolved the problem. I suspect this is a matter
of how people's accounts are provisioned to various Google servers, and
sometimes those servers doing a bad or incomplete job of indexing, but I
don't really know.

My only advice would be to try again later? I know that's not particularly
satisfying, but it should be helpful to know that others have observed
similar weirdness in Gmail search before, which eventually resolved.
