is open for our final CC Certificate courses of the year. Whether you want
a deeper understanding of digital literacy topics like opening access to
digitized collections, open educational resources (OER), open licensing, or
you want to engage in our open movements, the CC Certificate
<https://certificates.creativecommons.org/> courses are open to everyone.
Our courses include: (1) the CC Certificate for Academic Librarians, (2)
the CC Certificate for Open Culture (geared toward cultural heritage
professionals), and (3) the CC Certificate for Educators. Each course
provides the key building blocks for open licensing efforts in their
respective domains in just 10 weeks.
In our course, you will learn the basics of:
-
Copyright
-
The public domain
-
Limitations and exceptions to copyright such as fair use
-
CC licenses and how to use them
-
Additional considerations in open access efforts, such as accessibility
needs, traditional knowledge efforts, data and AI
Beyond the basics, CC courses connect participants to kindred colleagues,
copyright, and open access experts around the world, including our alumni
community of over 2,100 people in 70 countries.
Participants note the CC Certificate helps them become local experts for
open licensing at their institutions and better engage in open movements,
globally. If you’d like to hear more about what to expect directly from a
course graduate, contact certificates_at_creativecommons.org, and we’ll
connect you!
