Douglass Day text analysis workshop, Feb 13, 2025

The HathiTrust Research Center (HTRC) and the University of Michigan Library is hosting a virtual workshop in honor of Douglass Day 2025. Douglass Day is an annual program that marks the birth of Frederick Douglass by calling on teachers, scholars, and students to create new, freely available resources on Black history.

In this text analysis workshop, we will feature a collection of African American cookbooks in the HathiTrust Digital Library. The focus of the workshop will be an introduction to text analysis projects, including finding and creating text datasets in HathiTrust. We will also cover beginner text analysis tools such as those provided by the HathiTrust Research Center (HTRC). The workshop is open to anyone. Registration is required.
