delete only attachments in gmail sent folder

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and thought-provoking posts.

I will read them with great appreciation.

And added umn to the question of encrypting a file can one delete just the
attachment without deleting the message body (ext) or the entire message in
a gmail sent folder?

Ex. You email a person with an attachment. You want to keep the message you
sent them but just delete the attachment.
