I don’t use it, personally.

I grew up playing MUDs and worked as a programmer, so I type rather fast.

I had a roommate decades ago who use Dragon NaturallySpeaking.  I know the older versions didn’t require being connected to the internet (as it was still the days of dial-up modems).

You did have to spend an hour or so ‘training’ it back then, though.  (You read it a bunch of sentences so it learned your accent)

If the newer versions require internet connectivity, just buy an older one.  It’d probably be cheaper, too.
