Hello,
Are you a repository manager, metadata librarian, or other GLAM worker at
an organization with a Samvera repository? Please join us for the next
Samvera Metadata Interest Group meeting on *January 25th, 2022, 2-3pm EST*,
which will be a roundtable discussion on Metadata for Diversity, Equity,
and Inclusion. Listed below are possible topics for discussion, but all
ideas are welcome.
- Content warnings and harmful content statements
- Collaborative metadata creation and management with communities and
repositories
- Problematic subject headings and use of alternative controlled
vocabularies
- Local namespaces and controlled vocabularies
- Metadata remediation and audit projects, tools, or examples
We’d love to hear what you’re doing in your work! If you’re interested in
participating, please email Nora Zimmerman (zimmerno_at_lafayette.edu) and
Anna Goslen (goslen_at_email.unc.edu), SMIG co-facilitators, with a brief
description of your proposed discussion topic by January 14th, 2022. All
are welcome.
