The University of Virginia School of Law seeks a Web Services Librarian. Virginia is consistently ranked among the top law schools in the country and it has a distinctively collegial culture among students, faculty, administrators, and alumni. The Law Library plays an essential role in this culture: by giving faculty the sophisticated research assistance they need; by educating students in the research tools available to them; and by preserving and providing access to the proliferating sources of information in our electronic age. 

The Web Services Librarian collaborates with librarians and other Law School and University units to ensure that the library's web architecture, enterprise applications and web services enhance student learning, faculty scholarship, library outreach, and administration. This librarian will work with information vendors and University Libraries to establish and maintain secure and reliable access to online resources. The librarian will manage the Law Library's web content management systems and conduct basic maintenance for the library's cloud server environment. She/he will maintain and ensure the development of Law Library websites using current standards of accessibility, responsive design, usability, and assessment. She/he will provide professional and courteous technical support for library systems and online resources and participate in library project and planning teams relating to collection development, digital initiatives, space planning, strategic planning, and patron services. 

Requirements for the position include a Master's degree from an ALA-accredited school of library or information sciences, or a graduate degree with significant technology-related work experience in a library; three or more years of recent experience in the successful design and management of websites using HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3, and principles of accessibility and responsive design; the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing technology environment, to work independently and as part of a team, excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong patron-service orientation, and a commitment to professional growth and development. Experience working in an academic library is preferred; law library experience is a plus. 

Experience with the following is preferred: 
* Electronic resources management in a library 
* Drupal, WordPress, LibGuides API, SerialsSolutions, EZProxy, Omeka, AWS administration, Microsoft Office 365/SharePoint, Adobe CC, Bootstrap, CSS Grid, jQuery, web analytics tools 
* Managing the LAMP stack in a cloud environment such as AWS 
* Project management 

Familiarity with one or more of the following is helpful: 
* Legal research sources and methods 
* Emerging technologies relevant to the practice of law 
* Current practices and trends in digital archives and/or digital scholarship preservation 
* Metadata standards such as MARC and RDA
