The Systems Librarian will work closely with the Web Services Librarian and with campus IT to support library enterprise systems, including Alma, Primo, ILLiad, and EZ Proxy. This position provides systems administration support for both locally hosted virtual servers and external cloud environments; explores new technologies to identify opportunities for their effective application, including the potential integration with other university and library systems.

Although experience in certain areas is desirable, this is an entry-level position.  The search has been reopened and requirements revised to reflect this.  Candidates who exhibit excellent communication skills, aptitude with technology, and the ability to work in a collaborative, team environment will be given serious consideration.  Please apply by January 22.

Required Education
ALA-accredited graduate degree or graduate degree in a related discipline.
Required Experience

Familiarity with current library technologies and issues and with emerging trends.
Ability to learn and apply new technologies independently.
Exposure to academic libraries with knowledge of public and technical services operations, as well as library standards (MARC, Dublin Core, OAI-PMH, etc.)
Commitment to excellence and innovation in the provision of library services.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently in a changing environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse colleagues, faculty, and students.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in an academic library setting.
Experience working with Ex Libris Alma and Primo systems
Understanding of enterprise library applications such as integrated library systems, discovery services, OpenURL resolvers, proxy services, digital repositories, and interlibrary loan.
Demonstrated ability to work with programming languages such as PHP, SQL, and Perl and demonstrated knowledge of XML.
Experience with technologies needed to manage the enterprise environment including system administration tools (e.g. UNIX command structure, Apache, security standards)
Ability to effectively troubleshoot technical problems, isolate causes, and implement solutions.
