Spark in the Dark

Hi all-

Just a ping to the list to invite folks to join an informal group of Code4Lib-ers interested in data technologies like Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, AWS-based tools, Hadoop, etc.

Find us in the Code4Lib Slack's "Spark in the Dark” channel (#sparkinthedark).

We also have wildly informal, but super fun and mad informative calls on code of interest around these data technologies on a roughly monthly basis, organized via the channel. We even have one tomorrow, Thursday, October 19th at 1 PM Pacific, on the DPLA tech team’s work on some of their new, Spark-based, Scala data pipelines (you can join here if you’re interested https://stanford.zoom.us/j/4167209074).

We are also chatting about this type of technology, uses for it within our domains, and setting up further informative + informal work sharing calls this fall. Join us on the slack channel! #sparkinthedark
