I have a link on one of the branch library's home page so students can check the availability. They also have a mobile app for it.

http://labstats1-prod.cc.nd.edu/public/public.aspx

We also gathered logon/logoff stats and projected them against the 'actual' head counts on certain days. These days provided sample data based on which we extrapolated the 'offset' of people using computers (sometimes several of them sitting in front of one PC but one person is logged in) versus the individuals present at the given time. Then, based on that offset and knowing the number of logins we were able to roughly estimate the number of 'actual' individuals.

If you are interested in more details, please email me directly at bfrelas_at_nd.edu.

Hope this helps.

Beata

Hi Brian,

I use SpiceWorks for tracking computers, aside from an excel inventory spreadsheet.

For statistics, we have PC-RESERVATION and LPT:One installed on all computers that print for the public.

Stats that is collections:

1) Total Sessions
2) Average Length of Sessions
3) Total time of sessions

The print side:

Jobs printed on each printer
Jobs cancelled at release station
Jobs cancelled at computer
Jobs never picked up [deleted at 12 hours in age, after close].

Hope that helps!

Code4lib Team,

I was curious what software/systems other organizations are using to track computer usage statics in their computing labs and what stats are being collected?

Thanks,

Brian
