The deadline is June 8, although you can submit material on-site in Miami. The item you submit should be written as prose (not as flyer copy, for example) and should promote the uniqueness of your planned discussion group topic(s). If you happen to have a photograph, it would be accepted. Discussion group chairs should send one copy of their article to Pier London, _Cognotes_, 50 E. Huron St., Chicago IL 60611 and one copy to the ALCTS office for inclusion in _AN2_ and forwarding to the _ALCTS Newsletter_. Either e-mail to karen.l.whittlesey@ala.org or fax to Karen L. Whittlesey at 312-280-3257. The _Cognotes_ staff really do make every effort to include listings of discussion group topics. They know that these less formal conference activities are where some of the newest information is first discussed. This is an important promotional avenue for discussion group chairs to take advantage of and a good way to bring in conference registrants! ************************************************************************* MISSING BALLOT REQUESTS If you have not received your ALA/ALCTS ballot, or if you are missing any parts, call ALA Membership Services immediately. Their number is 800-545-2433 ext 4285. Calls to the ALCTS office will be referred to Membership, since the ALCTS office is not responsible for the process once the ballots have been printed. ************************************************************************* AV TOURS STILL OPEN There is still space available for the two AV tours of the Louis Wolfson II Media History Center in Miami. The tours are on Friday, June 24 from 1:00 to 2:00 and again from 3:30 to 4:30. Between the two tours, the ALCTS Audiovisual Committee is sponsoring a session on "Moving Image Archives: Preserving Our History," an overview of the work of moving image (film and video) archives. Speakers will address issues ranging from preservation and technical concerns to acquisition of collections, public access and utilization to cataloging issues. More information is available in the preliminary program book. Tour reservations are available on a first-come first-served basis by calling the ALCTS office at 800-545-2433, ext. 5033, or by mail to ALCTS AV Tour, 50 E. Huron St., Chicago IL 60611. Either way, don't forget to specify which hour you want to sign up for. ************************************************************************* ALCTS NEWSLETTER ERRATUM In volume 5, number 2 of the _ALCTS Newsletter_, the photos of the ALCTS vice-presidential candidates were transposed. The transposition of the photos was a printer error that ALA Production Services overlooked in reviewing press proofs. The subsequent issue of the _Newsletter_, due to be mailed next week, identifies the candidates correctly. ************************************************************************* ************************************************************************* ALCTS NETWORK NEWS (ISSN 1056-6694) is published irregularly by the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services, a division of the American Library Association.
