Whitney, and Anne Woodsworth. ************************************************************************* DISCUSSION GROUP TOPICS, ROUND 4 Preservation Issues in Small to Mid-Sized Libraries Discussion Group The Preservation Issues in Small to Mid-Sized Libraries Discussion Group will meet for the first time on Saturday, June 26, 1993 at 11:30 AM-12:30 PM in Room 102 of the New Orleans Convention Center. Anyone with an interest in preservation programs for college or research library collections of fewer than four million volumes is invited to attend. The organizers hope the discussion group will identify common concerns, facilitate co-operative action and resource sharing, and develop a sense of the types of preservation programs which are appropriate for these collections. The meeting will begin with a brief presentation by Terry Smith, Catalog Librarian at the University of Oregon. She will describe her experiences with planning for and implementing FastCat procedures. Please come to the meeting and share your ideas and experiences. While some libraries have already created a FastCat unit, others are still in the thinking and/or planning stages. The Discussion Group will also be electing a new Chair at the New Orleans meeting.
