Collection management and development has become an important issue for librarians in every type of library. Throughout ALA, committees, round tables and discussion groups consider the larger aspects of collection management or the portions which pertain to their charge. For more information on what the groups do, consult the ALA Handbook of Organization for their charge and the name of their chair. To find out when and where the groups meet, check the committee listings section of the program. Meetings are open to observers, in accordance with the ALA open meetings policy. This list has been published on ALCTSERV, the ALCTS fileserver, under THE NAME CMDS GUIDE.
