Are they still in business? Any info. anyone would have would be great. Please respond off list as I am not a member. I would like to know: 1) Why you decided to transfer (unhappy with current vendor, better discounts, etc) 2) How easy/painful was the actual transfer 3) How happy are you with Ingram's service We are also curious if anyone's used Baker & Taylor's "Compass" product yet for your standing orders and what you think of it. I'm having particular trouble getting items from the National Library of Australia since I'm unable to meet their prepayment requirements. Thanks. Janet Siar Acquisitions Dept. Services) Subject: Client involvement in acquisitions We are a special Library for the Queensland Department of Health and as such have a collection emphasis on health policy and health management. I'm seeking some innovative ideas to encourage clients to identify and suggest titles for purchase. Yes, this is an unusual problem - most libraries are flooded with requests! We are keen to have as much client involvement in the acquisitions process as possible, so the Library reflects Departmental requirements. I have been sending new book information out on a regular basis but that method is generating fewer responses as the months go by. Any ideas for fresh approaches? I'm specifically interested in classical music, but companies specializing in other types welcome too. Names and phone numbers would be fine; e-mail or web site addresses would be even better. Please reply to me directly if possible. Thanks a million! Subject: Candidates for _Onion Patch(sm): New Age Public Access Systems_ *Candidates for _Onion Patch(sm): New Age Public Access Systems_* I am greatly interested in profiling additional projects, research, products and services that support or demonstrate alternative approaches to Second Generation OPACs and other current online public catalogs and indexes for my Web clearinghouse _Onion Patch(sm)_. The address for _Onion Patch(sm) is: http://www.public.iastate.edu/~CYBERSTACKS/Onion.htm _Onion Patch(sm)_ also includes descriptions of novel visual interfaces with features and functionalities that potentially can enhance public access systems. I am *particularly* interested in any and all commercial services that exist or are currently in development that can seamlessly manage Embedded Multimedia in E-journals.
